VistaVG Black Theme for Windows XP
After getting lot of demand for XP port of my “Vista Black Theme for Windows Vista”, I’m glad to announce my new XP theme “VistaVG Black“.

About:

Its an update over my previous XP theme “VistaVG Ultimate”:

I have changed Startmenu, titlebar, buttons and a few other things in this theme.

HOW TO USE:

1. In the downloaded pack, you’ll get 2 folders:

=> Fonts (This folder contains Segoe UI fonts required for the theme. Copy them to “%windir%\Fonts” folder.)
=> Theme (This folder contains the main theme.)

2. Copy all contents in “Theme” folder to “%windir%\Resources\Themes\” folder.

3. Now you can set the theme using Desktop Properties.

4. Also make sure you have patched the “uxtheme.dll” file to allow 3rd party visual styles, if its not patched, then download and run the UXtheme Patcher from here:

Everything works great but part of my start menu is cut off. When you click on the start menu, on the left side (with the My Documents, My Computer, Control Panel etc links) is partially cut off so I can only see half of the M in My, C in Control Panel etc... It is minor but quite annoying (to me), is there any quick fix to this?

Hello vishal bro i know u since a long time when i joined dotsis.

Can anyone pls help me out, i downloaded this theme "Vista Vg black". . . I applied it on my pc with the help of "style xp" software. Everything in the theme applied perfectly but the icons didnt .

The icons are not changing.. Even downloaded a different icon pack and tried to apply it with the help of "icon tweaker" software but its not working either. . . I tried many icon apllying software but all failed :(
Can anyone pls help me out. thanx

dude!, just because it doesn't work for you the first time you try to extract it, does not mean that the file your getting is useless, just try opening the file with winrar, > www.rarlabs.com, or change the file extension to .rar, you have a third part program renaming it...

I tried change it on user accounts but it not works...

Ah! It doesn't work! I download it and it gives me an .rar. I can't extract it by itself, so I put it in a compressed(zipped) folder and then tried to extract it. It extracted, but it gave me another .rar! What the heck is going on?

You are using a Computer Associates (CA) antivirus product that is renaming the file extension.

The file is a .RAR that extracts into two folders containing the theme files and optional fonts:

/Fonts
/Fonts/SegoeUI
/Fonts/SegoeUI/segoeui.ttf
/Fonts/SegoeUI/segoeuib.ttf
/Fonts/SegoeUI/segoeuii.ttf
/Fonts/SegoeUI/segoeuiz.ttf
/Preview.png
/Readme.txt
/Theme
/Theme/VistaVG Black
/Theme/VistaVG Black/Shell
/Theme/VistaVG Black/Shell/Black48
/Theme/VistaVG Black/Shell/Black48/Shellstyle.dll
/Theme/VistaVG Black/Shell/NormalColor
/Theme/VistaVG Black/Shell/NormalColor/Shellstyle.dll
/Theme/VistaVG Black/VistaVG Black.msstyles

Just rename the .EFW file to .RAR and it will extract properly. Check your CA antivirus product documentation for how to change this behaviour if you don't like it.

i have not been able to use anything off this website useing TuneUp 2007. Whats the deal? This theme says that its suppose to have 2 files but when i download it, it only comes with a EFW file. Everything i've downloaded comes with this stupid pointless unuseable file.
