I believe the i386 folder simply contains the Windows installation files. It is common on Dell, HP, Compaq computers. The last fellow that has this simply moved the i386 folder onto a thumb drive and then moved it back after patching. Or you could burn it to disk.
Maybe try just renaming the setup file in i386. Basically Multipatcher is doing a check to make sure there are no sources of backup uxtheme.dll files and there is one in i386. If Windows finds one, it will immediately overwrite the patched one with a backup.
Whoo hoo!

I'm so excited! Lol! Okay what I did was move the folder to My Documents. That worked and then when I double clicked the multi patcher program, it opened right away and I was able to install it.
I rebooted my computer at its command and I'm happy to report everything seems to be working fine and I was able to move the I386 folder back to Windows with success.
Okay. Now I want to download a theme, but in your instructions for installing the patch you said something like:
"You'll still need to load themes and visual styles manually or use a third-party program"
'kay, I am going to download a really pretty theme I found and try to install it even though I really have no clue what I'm doing. I am a desktop architect chick and at the least MS Plus. Lol!
Suggestions for a third party program to help me install the theme would be welcome.
Thanks so far for all the help Hamesh!
