Hi Brady. It's not difficult at all and you don't need any additional software. All you need to do is patch your uxtheme.dll file so Windows will recognize and load unsigned themes and visual styles. If using Windows XP, go grab Multi-Patcher. If running Vista, you'll need VistaGlazz.

After you have installed either, reboot. Then all you do is download your desired XP or Vista theme, extract to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. Then open this folder in Windows Explorer and double-click the *.theme or *.msstyles file to load up the theme in Display Properties. If it looks good, Apply it and that's it.

All these other programs are just theme managers that make it easier to load and manage your themes. But they are also all commercial products you have to register/buy to use.

Ah. You can't. The dead giveaway is that the program AlienGUI is made by Stardock, who make Windowblinds and Skinstudio. I went and installed it and indeed, the themes are in .studio format. So all it is is a custom version of Windowblinds. But hey, if it's free, why not install it? Then you can load other studio themes without having to buy Windowblinds?
