i really like the organismen theme but i cant seem to apply it.

the zip file has a jpg file and a msstyles file. i've tried applying it with styleXP but it doest work. im not to confident in using multipatcher due to the risk of destroying my OS as it supposedly replaces some vital files.

im running windows XP home edition and i believe im running SP2 but im not sure. it there a way to check which service pack you're runnig?

EDIT: i tried doing it by clicking on the msstyles file but it only displays the theme in the appearance tab in display properties. when i go to the theme tab it shows my current theme but its modified. i click back to the appearance tab and it goes back to classic.

okay i was able to get the thing to work. here's how i did it.

i downloaded starskin and the style was listed with a filename that i didnt recognize. i applied that and it gave me the style i was looking for. then i went to the desktop tab in starskin and applied the matching background and badda-bing!

i would still like to know how you can find out which service pack you're using.

Ok if your machine is up to date the chances are your on SP2 or above. Here is a hint for you. Put on the default boot screen! Is the progress bar blue? if yes then your on SP2+

Is it green? yes. Means your below SP2.

I am on vista and its been so long since i have used XP that i cant remember but try a right click on My Computer and going to properties to see if it comes up.
