I just installed the uxtheme.dll and the Vista Transformation Pack v8.0
When I extracted the VTP and ran the .exe file, it keeps telling me that it encountered a problem and needs to shutdown. I have gotten no further than that after several attempts. I have rebooted multiple times after the themes patch, and I am getting frustrated.
Any help would be appreciated.

I finally made the install work. No help needed anymore.

I finally made the install work. No help needed anymore.
Try rebooting into safe mode and install from there. Also, the official support forum for VTP 8 recommends uninstalling VTP 7 first (if you have it installed already). And there was a Microsoft update that seems to cause problems.
