I used to have the trial version of StyleXP, and when I had it I downloaded a bootscreen. My trial period has since expired, and I do not want to buy the full version.

Now, every time I turn on my computer, I come to a black screen with white text that tells me to select Windows Media Center with or without the bootscreen. The default option (the first one) loads Windows properly with the bootscreen I downloaded. The second option loads Windows with the default Windows XP bootscreen.

Is it possible to get rid of the downloaded bootscreen and make the computer automatically load the default dootscreen as it did before I downloaded StyleXP? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I followed a link in another thread to this help forum. I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but my apologies if this isn't the right place for this thread.

StyleXP wrote a second line into your c:\boot.ini file. While you can edit this file manually, it's not recommended. You can't even see it unless you enable some Folder Options in Windows Explorer. So, just right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop (or click the System icon in Control Panel), and then the Advanced tab. Under Advanced, click the Settings button beside System and Recovery. On that screen, there will be a drop-down menu that says Default operating system. Select the first one, then uncheck the 'Time to display list of operating systems. Click OK and reboot. That should take care of it.
